- Inner world at the surface -

My work comes from a complex, dreamlike, surrealistic inner world. From a young age I struggled with my mental health. I had a lot of layered emotions that kept me occupied and had difficulties with a sense of reality and time. I felt a constant disconnect between the world within and the world without, which often led to depression. I developed a desperate need to understand it.

In my work I explore the various roots of mental health issues and the ways they manifest. I dive into my own fears, shame and desires. This resulted in work in different forms like costume, performance, textile and painted artwork.

I always had a tendency to hoard materials and giving meaning to ordinary items. Some materials feel like they belong to a previous sense of self. I use these different materials from my day to day life, fashion magazines or textile scraps from previous projects. Together they get a new meaning.
